With modern advances in spectral tuning, LED-based horticulture lighting systems can now significantly enhance crop yields, improve plant health, and reduce energy consumption compared to traditional LED systems. Photophyll Select LEDs, with their optimized green and minimized red content, offer an easy upgrade to high-efficiency, broad spectrum two-channel (white + red) horticulture luminaires, enhancing performance by up to 6%. These advancements lead to lower luminaire costs and increased efficiency.
The spectral output of Photophyll Select LEDs is organized into two new metrics, based on the amount of photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) in the blue (400-500 nm), green (500-600 nm), and red (600-700 nm) bands. Unlike traditional human vision metrics like correlated color temperature (CCT) or color rendering index (CRI), these new metrics eliminate confusion and inaccuracies, thus simplifying the design process for horticultural applications.
